Sting Live Tomorrow Night !!!

Sting will be performing here in Vancouver tomorrow night (the 9th) with Keith Carlok on drums. I don't have tickets, since it was sold out very quickly (you snooze, you lose!) but I will go and get some prime seats from a scalper once the show has started (I don't mind missing Annie's first few songs). Wish me luck, I will let you know how Keith does if I get in!

P.S. Anyone seen Sting on this tour?

OK, i'm outtahere... the show starts in 30mins, if I get in, i'll let you guys know how it went (from a drummers perspective). I was reading some other message boards and everyone is saying that Keith is Sting's best drummer since Vinnie!

I hope Seven Days is still on the setlist!!!

What a night! (and I do not mean that in an I just saw Sting kind of way).

To make a long story (somewhat) short. I finally found a scalper with floor seats. He sold me one for $90 and even went in with me (he had the other one of the pair). He left to sell another ticket and when I went to my seat, it was occupied. Turns out he sold me a FAKE TICKET and I was escorted out and told to wait for Ticketmaster to release more. I frantically looked for this guy. Of course, I bought a ticket from him cause the show was long since SOLD OUT, so Ticketmaster was not going to release more. When I was outside talking to the doormen about my misfortune, there was another guy right there who claimed to have bought a ticket from the same guy, saying he too was taken advantage of. I recognize this guy, I saw him talking to the scalper before I bought the ticket. I suspect that they are in cohoots here in this scam and I begin questioning him. We both go back to the VIP entrance where I went in and tell the guards about the situation, of course it is not their problem or fault, but I tell them that I will now buy a LEGIT ticket to get in...despite being ripped off $90. Of course, they are ALL SOLD OUT. As I am talking to these doormen, the other "victim" vanishes. Knowing that the scalper and his supposed accomplis are long gone, I admit defeat and start walking back to my car. I hear a voice up a flight of stairs calling "HEY BUDDY! HEY... BUDDY! UP HERE!"... it is the scalper and the other "victim". I run up the stairs and before I can even give him hell, he (the scalper) hands me my money back (all $90!) and apologises for the whole situation, claiming that he bought that ticket from the woman in that seat and that SHE ripped HIM off and that he did not know. Sure, whatever. What a stroke of misfortune AND luck at the same time. I thought about buying another ticket from another scalper, though by this time there were only a couple left (and not good seats). I then thought, no - why make the same mistake twice (fake tickets!). I left.

In the end, I got ripped off. Got my money back. Saw ONE Annie Lennox song. Never saw Sting. Concluded the lamest thread ever on HOD.

Sting & Annie were to come to NZ but too far to travel apparently...
